About

I started in construction after six months at a desk job, where I found myself envying the fabricators out in the shop while I made cold calls and attended meetings. My first hands-on role was with a homebuilder, where I learned the fundamentals of foundations and framing — lessons that still ground my confidence on every job site today.

Next, I began installing shelving systems for The Container Store, starting with the classic Elfa line and progressing to their Avera and Laren systems. In that work, I learned the importance of precision — level, plumb, and customer satisfaction.

After that, I fulfilled a dream of flipping homes. Along with partners, I purchased and remodeled a single-family house and seven apartments. On those projects, I wore all the hats: electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, and subcontracting paint and drywall. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for every aspect of construction — and a sense of when to call in the right specialist.

Eventually, I was drawn to shorter-term projects and joined an event production and fabrication company, where I’m known as the “wood guy.” It’s a fair title — I tend to solve problems with wood because it’s the quickest, strongest, and most flexible material when you’re in a pinch. Plus, I’m right at home with a circular saw in hand.

Today, I still collaborate with both The Container Store and the fabrication shop, but I’ve started Arroyo Seco Carpentry to focus on independent projects — typically about a week in scope — where I can bring skill, creativity, and reliability directly to homeowners. I also work closely with other tradesmen and enjoy connecting clients with trusted specialists when a project calls for it.

If my story resonates with you, I’d love to talk about your next project.
